Matavovszky Dominika

psychologist

I am curious about the diversity and changes in the world. As a psychologist, I feel fortunate to have worked in many different areas.

I have learned from adolescents about authentic relationships, experienced the role of genuineness in working with young people, and witnessed the power of adults’ motivation to change. I believe, and experience every day, that the deepest connections are formed through empathy. I also study human functioning from a research perspective, which not only complements my work as a counselor but also provides me with constant inspiration in my everyday practice.

In consultations, we explore the questions clients bring from new perspectives. My aim is to support them in this process, which can be challenging at times but also liberating. In the first meetings, we set our expectations together and define the goals that will guide us on the journey of self-understanding and growth.

Thank you in advance for your trust.

I offer my help in the following topics:

  • Relationship difficulties and conflicts (e.g., life cycle changes, breakups, lack of trust, communication issues)
  • Stress management and emotion regulation
  • Lack of motivation, decreased performance, and career choices
  • Parenting challenges and uncertainties related to the parental role
  • Issues and challenges of young adulthood (e.g., entering adulthood, identity search, intimacy, relationship with parents)
  • Coping with difficulties related to living abroad (e.g., adjustment, homesickness, cultural differences)
