„The past is gone, the future is not yet here, it will become what we shape it into. But to do that, we must start from the present.”

In my work as a psychologist, I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approach. The central idea of CBT is that while past events do influence our personality, our problems exist in the here and now – therefore, they must be addressed in the present. Based on this, we examine the connection between the client’s current situation, their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical reactions. Our environment tends to be constant, whereas our thoughts are often automatic, intrusive, and negatively biased. CBT helps us learn to observe and examine our thoughts (with a foundation in mindfulness) and develop new habits – ultimately leading to greater emotional stability.

A key element of my present- and solution-focused perspective is the belief that we must not underestimate the power of potential change. Everyone has this potential, but due to self-doubt or low self-esteem, people often hesitate to change their lives or their thinking. They are dissatisfied with their current situation and thus unhappy, but fear change – this is where initial support is crucial. Self-awareness is not a fixed end state; the key lies in openness to change and continuous re-adaptation.

I place strong emphasis on the mind-body connection. Many psychological difficulties stem from today’s lifestyle (Western diet, lack of physical activity, vitamin and mineral deficiencies), which are often worsened by our internal emotional experiences.

In addition to up-to-date professional knowledge, I offer authenticity, attentiveness, and a calm, accepting attitude – allowing clients to experience unconditional acceptance. This in itself can make the therapeutic relationship healing.
