    counselling psychologist

You might be feeling a little nervous right now… Perhaps you’re wondering, “Is something wrong with me?” or maybe you’re thinking, “Can a psychologist help me solve my problem? What is it like to see a psychologist?”

I believe that those who turn to a psychologist are not ill, but courageous and healthy individuals. Healthy—because they recognize that there are moments in life when it’s harder to cope alone. Courageous—because they’ve taken their life into their own hands and are taking responsibility for themselves and the direction of their life.

“Will a psychologist solve my problem?”
No, I won’t solve it for you—but I will empower you to manage it yourself.

So what can you expect if you come to see me?

I don’t give advice. I ask questions and give feedback. I listen carefully and do my best to understand what hurts. I believe things can get better, and I sincerely root for the people who come to me to begin to see themselves through the same positive lens that I see them—and to come to love the man, woman, or child who lives within them.

One of my clients once said this at the end of our work together:
“When I first came here, I felt like I was flailing in water and drowning. Now I feel like I can swim and see several islands where I can rest.”

If you’re ready to do the work, I will be fully present with my attention and professional expertise.
