Family and couple therapy

During the consultation, we explore, raise awareness of and find solutions to conflict situations in the life of the couple and/or family. During relationship and family counselling, we help the couple to find a way to overcome problems, to grow together and to rebuild and revive their life together by enriching their self-awareness.

When should you see a couple and family therapist?

We recommend seeing a couples therapist if the members of the couple feel that certain problems are recurring in their lives, with disputes often taking place around similar conflicts.

In most cases, couples therapy is indicated in the following situations:

  • life-cycle changes (marriage, birth of children, children leaving home, adolescent children in the family)
  • long-standing relationship conflict, communication issues

  • child-rearing issues

  • divorce crisis

  • sexual problems

  • prevention (preparation for the role of husband/wife and parenthood)

How long does the consultation last?

The consultation is held by two professionals, usually biweekly, one session lasting for 90 minutes.

Feedback – our clients’ experiences with our colleagues

“We came to couples counselling because we felt we had lost a real connection with each other, tired of the daily conflicts and the daily grind as a couple. With the help of the psychologists, we learned effective communication methods and conflict management strategies that re-energized our relationship. We are grateful for the support we received.”
Zsófi and Márk

“We asked for help after a serious relationship crisis, cheating. The counsellors were empathetic and understanding and helped us to find love and respect for each other again. We also discovered our personal responsibility in what had happened and through the counselling process we were able to continue our relationship in a new and, in a good sense, different chapter from where we left off. We have come a long way, but we now recognise that such an event can be survived if both parties dare to believe and act to save the relationship”.

Enikő and Gergő

“I had no idea that family and couples counselling could be so crucial for our relationship. With the help of the counsellors, we have learned to work better together, share our feelings and support each other in difficult times. We are much stronger now and know that whatever challenges we face, we can overcome them together.”
